Yellow Journalism Blog Entry
You might be thinking that you have no idea what 'Yellow Journalism' is, but I'm sure you all have seen it and are familiar with it. Yellow Journalism is journalism that includes very little or no facts at all. Think about tabloid magazines--those all have stories that maybe take one small detail and embellish it or exaggerate it so much and tell something that is completely not true.
I will be honest--this assignment was inspired by some of the funny and creatively clever photos that my students have edited in the past so have fun!

I will be honest--this assignment was inspired by some of the funny and creatively clever photos that my students have edited in the past so have fun!
Here is your assignment for today:
- Find a picture (BONUS IF YOU EDIT AND CREATE YOUR OWN PICTURE) and then write a news story about the picture using 'Yellow Journalism'. Post this story on your blog.
- If you cannot find a picture, I invite you to write a news story to go along with Madeline's picture to the left (it's an old one--she was six at the time :-). The title of your story has been provided, you just need to make up a story to go with it.
- Rule: If you choose to use a picture of a friend for your story, you MUST have that person's permission AND approval of your blog post before you submit it.
- Your blog post should have at least 100 words.
- Your blog post should have a title. Think about tabloid titles--ridiculous, absurd, really attention-grabbing.
